PROJECTS / PART 107 FLIGHT CHECK / PRIVACY POLICY
Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 11, 2026
Overview
Part 107 Flight Check (“the App”) is a study app for the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate exam, developed by Jason Chalky. We believe your study habits are your business, and we built the App accordingly: we do not collect any personal information, we do not require an account, and we do not transmit your study progress off your device.
What We Collect
Nothing.
The App does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of the following:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifier
- Your location, even approximate
- Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, etc.) — except as noted below for ads
- Contacts, photos, calendar, or any other data from your device
- Analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or usage metrics
- Anything you type into the App
What We Store (on your device only)
The App uses Apple’s SwiftData framework to store the following locally on your device, never on a remote server:
- Your quiz answers and scores
- Your per-question review history (used for spaced-repetition scheduling)
- The date of your most recent study session
- Your Remove Ads purchase entitlement (verified via Apple StoreKit)
This data leaves your device only if you enable iCloud backup for the App in iOS Settings. Apple handles iCloud backups; we have no access to them.
To delete all stored data, delete the App from your device.
Third-Party Services
Part 107 Flight Check uses the following Apple and third-party services. Each is listed with exactly what data it receives and what it does with it.
1. Apple StoreKit (required for the Remove Ads purchase)
When you tap “Remove Ads”, Apple’s StoreKit framework processes the purchase. Apple receives your Apple ID, payment information, and the purchase identifier. Apple’s privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.
We receive only a verified transaction receipt confirming that the purchase succeeded. We do not see your Apple ID, your name, or your payment details.
2. Amazon Associates (affiliate links)
The “Recommended Gear & Resources” section contains links to Amazon products. If you tap a link, the App opens Amazon’s website in an in-app browser. If you buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Amazon’s privacy policy applies: amazon.com/privacy.
We do not see which products you view or purchase. Amazon does not share any personal information with us.
3. Google AdMob (ads, if enabled in a future version)
The current version of Part 107 Flight Check does not serve ads. If a future version adds ads via Google AdMob:
- Google may collect device identifiers (such as the Advertising Identifier), approximate IP-based location, and ad interaction events
- This data is used by Google to deliver relevant ads and measure ad performance
- Google’s privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy
- On iOS, ads are governed by Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework: you can opt out of personalized advertising in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or in the Part 107 Flight Check App when prompted
You can remove all ads permanently with a one-time Remove Ads purchase.
Children’s Privacy
Part 107 Flight Check is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate requires a minimum age of 16 under 14 CFR 107.61.
Data Security
All study data is stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework, which uses standard iOS file-system encryption when your device is locked. We never transmit, process, or store your data on servers we control.
Your Choices
- Delete all data: Delete the App from your device.
- Disable personalized ads (if ads are enabled in a future version): iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → toggle off “Allow Apps to Request to Track”.
- Manage your Remove Ads purchase: iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → Purchase History.
FAA Non-Affiliation
Part 107 Flight Check is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). All practice questions are original works and cite public-domain federal sources, including 14 CFR Part 107, the FAA Remote Pilot Airman Certification Standards (FAA-S-ACS-10A), and the FAA Remote Pilot Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Study Guide (FAA-G-8082-22).
Passing this App’s mock exams does not guarantee passing the real FAA exam. Use this App as one of several study tools.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this document reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be disclosed in the App’s release notes.
