MealMeld turns “What’s for dinner?” from a one-person chore into a family vote. Instead of one person carrying the whole decision, the whole family swipes through candidate recipes and a consensus algorithm picks meals that actually make everyone happy.
Why this app
Meal planning is stressful when one person carries the whole load. MealMeld distributes the decision across the family using ranked-choice voting. The Borda Count algorithm avoids polarizing picks — it doesn’t just find the most-loved option, it finds the option with the broadest support. Nobody gets stuck eating something they hate.
How it works
Add recipes manually and create a voting session. Each family member swipes through the candidates — Like, Dislike, OK, Super Like, or Veto (for allergies and hard constraints). The algorithm scores everything and surfaces the top picks. Schedule winners to specific days, and the app generates a shopping list organized by aisle with cost estimates.
Privacy-first by design
No tracking. No analytics. No ads. All data is stored on-device with Apple’s SwiftData framework. Sign in with Apple is offered but optional — if you use it, only the Apple-issued user ID and a display name are stored, locally on your device. There is no server, no third-party account, and nothing leaves the device.
