The game crashes on launch
Make sure you are running iOS 17.0 or later. Try force-quitting and relaunching, then deleting and reinstalling the App if the issue persists.
My progress was lost
All game data is stored locally on your device. If you deleted and reinstalled the App, progress cannot be recovered. A future update may include iCloud sync.
How do daily challenges work?
A new Code Breaker puzzle is generated every day using the same seed for every player worldwide. Complete it to maintain your streak. Streaks are tracked on the Game Center leaderboard.
What are the four game modes?
- Code Breaker — classic Mastermind across six difficulty tiers
- Ball Sort — sort colored balls into tubes so each tube holds one color
- Binary Grid — fill a grid with red and blue cells following Takuzu rules
- Flow Connect — connect matching colored endpoints with paths that fill every cell
How do lives and rewarded ads work?
You start with 5 lives. Each failed attempt costs one life. Lives regenerate automatically at a rate of one every 30 minutes. If you run out, you can optionally watch a short rewarded ad to earn an extra life and keep playing.
How do hints work?
Code Breaker offers up to 3 hints per day, powered by Knuth’s minimax algorithm. A hint suggests a high-information next guess and explains the reasoning. The hint counter resets at midnight local time.
Can I play without ads or Game Center?
Yes. Game Center is entirely optional — all 930 levels are playable without signing in. Ads only appear when you explicitly choose to watch one for an extra life or hint reward.
How do I report a bug?
Please open a GitHub issue with:
- Your device model and iOS version
- The game mode and level you were on
- A description of what happened
- Steps to reproduce the issue
Data Deletion
Chromaplex stores all game data locally on your device. To delete all data associated with the App:
- Open Settings on your iOS device
- Go to General > iPhone Storage
- Find and tap Chromaplex
- Tap Delete App
This removes all locally stored game data including progress, streaks, lives, and settings. No data is stored on external servers, so no additional deletion request is needed.
If you have used Game Center features, you can manage that data through your Apple ID settings.
